So I celebrated the end of my 2nd year deadlines yesterday by going out shopping, and I came home with some really lovely material. Being the impatient little whatnot I am, I decided to have a quick collage session straight away to see what I could do with my new material, whilst chilling out in front of the tv with my housemate.
This was the result - a rather odd collage. It is actually of Queen Jadis (or the White Witch) from The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis. The prequel to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is actually my favourite in the entire series. The concept of the “Wood between the Worlds”, where the children forget who they are and how they got there etc has fascinated me since I was little. I’m hoping to make a series of collages on this book over the summer, to try and re-imagine the book - I’ve never been that big a fan of the Pauline Baynes illustrations featured in the copy I have.
